Seafood Advocacy Issues
Seafood is an integral part of global trade that provides not only healthy food for a growing planet but jobs and economic opportunities for millions.
At a time when Americans are told to limit so many foods, seafood is among the handful of foods Americans are encouraged to eat more often.
Both imported and domestic seafood production is regulated by an internationally recognized system that identifies where hazards might happen and puts in place measures to prevent them from occurring.
Our investment in our oceans and aquaculture today will provide our children and future generations the health benefits of a plentiful supply of fish and seafood tomorrow.
Fair and lawful business practices are essential for ensuring consumer confidence in seafood – the entire supply chain is responsible for maintaining this confidence.
