National Fisheries Institute Vice President Elected to SeaShare Board of Directors

July 22, 2024, Reston, VA – The National Fisheries Institute’s Vice President of Membership and Training, Gerrie Thomas, joins the SeaShare Board of Directors. The non-profit helps the seafood industry donate to hunger-relief efforts in the United States.

“SeaShare is a group that has evolved from a novel concept about valuing every part of the catch, to a well-oiled hunger relief team focused on valuing every part of the community, through nutrition. It is an honor to join SeaShare in that vital work,” said Thomas.

NFI is pleased to have her help further SeaShare’s mission to engage the seafood industry in a collective effort to improve nutrition for people served by food banks and feeding centers.

“NFI recently completed a new strategic plan designed to help us better grow, shape and connect the industry,” said NFI President and CEO Lisa Wallenda Picard. “SeaShare is a group that connects the industry on one very specific and important mission. I can’t think of a better addition to their Board than Gerrie Thomas.”

Thomas, a U.S. Army Veteran, has worked for NFI for the last 19 years. Her Board and Committee work includes a current seat on the Parent’s Council at James Madison University.
