Newsletter to Help Keep Foodservice Hooked On Seafood
Hooked will offer the latest seafood info to the restaurant industry
WASHINGTON, DC August 6, 2012 The National Fisheries Institute (NFI) is working to keep the foodservice community hooked on seafood. As part of a new seasonal newsletter available for distribution through its members who work in the foodservice sector, Hooked will provide the latest information on seafood advice and new, healthful ways to use seafood on menus.
For years now, health professionals have been encouraging Americans to eat seafood twice a week, and we know smart restaurant choices can help people meet that goal said Jennifer McGuire, a registered dietitian and manager of nutrition communications for NFI. Its our hope that through the Hooked newsletters, we can help foodservice find new and innovative ways to give consumers the options and information they clearly want.
The first installment of Hooked debuts in August and will be a quarterly publication. It is available for NFI members, who are encouraged to distribute it to their customers.
Most menus have plenty of turf, but with Hooked as an additional resource for foodservice providers, were making it easier to feature the healthy, sought after surf alternative, McGuire said.
For more than 60 years, the National Fisheries Institute (NFI) and its members have provided American families with the variety of sustainable seafood essential to a healthy diet. For more information visit: www.AboutSeafood.com.
