Pillar 1. Improve food access and affordability National Fisheries Institute members, through their
partnership with SeaShare and America’s Second Harvest and similar organizations, commit to
provide through 2032 more than 70 million nutritious and sustainable seafood meals to help end
hunger for America’s neediest families.

2032 more than 750 million nutritious and sustainable seafood meals to help end hunger for
America’s neediest families through increased participation in successful USDA programs that
support food assistance distribution.

2032 more than 500 million meals through the successful USDA Child Nutrition Programs and other
programs to students who will benefit from nutritious and sustainable seafood.
Pillar 2. Integrate nutrition and health The National Fisheries Institute and its members through
2032 commit to invest $1.25 billion engaging with American shoppers to identify the most convenient
seafoods and communicating with them through social media and traditional promotional activities,
to ensure sustainable and nutritious fish is available in forms and at price points all Americans can
enjoy.
Pillar 3. Empower all consumers to make and have access to healthy choices The National Fisheries Institute, through various current and to-be-developed social media initiatives, commits to
generating 40 billion impressions through 2032 about the sustainability and nutrition of seafood
available to all Americans. A significant amount of those efforts will be focused on underserved
communities with a message of affordability.
Pillar 4. Support physical activity for all Although unable to make a specific commitment to this
goal, the National Fisheries Institute encourages the White House to ensure all Americans appreciate
the health benefits of an active lifestyle.
Pillar 5. Enhance nutrition and food security research The National Fisheries Institute, through the Seafood Industry Research Fund, the NFI Scientific Monitoring Committee, the NFI Crab Council, and the NFI Clam Committee, commits to sponsor at universities and institutes $40 million in research through 2032 to evaluate the most sustainable means to harvest fish and the most effective ways to communicate the health benefits and availability of a variety of seafood to all Americans.
