Wisconsin Fines Companies for Incorrect Weights of Frozen Seafood
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has received a total of $100,853.50 in civil forfeitures from ten companies accused of overcharging for frozen seafood by including the weight of the ice glaze as part of the net weight of the product. The weight violations were found during the 17-state investigation of frozen seafood weights that was conducted in early 2010.
