Judge Sentences Former CEO for Importing Falsely Labeled Fish
The Justice Department announced the sentence for Mr. Thomas George, the former CEO of Sterling Seafood Corporation who pled guilty in January, 2010, for importing falsely labeled fish. Mr. George was sentenced to 22 months in prison and ordered to pay over $64 million in restitution for importing Pangasius hypophthalmus as grouper to avoid anti-dumping duties and for selling falsely labeled fish with the intent to defraud.
