Bellingham Seafood Processor Pleads Guilty to Mislabeling Salmon

The Bellingham Herald reports that Douglas Jay, the owner of D Jay Enterprises, Inc., dba Swiftsure Foods, has pleaded guilty to federal charges of selling coho salmon labeled as chinook salmon. False labeling of seafood is a violation of the Lacey Act. The maximum penalty is five years in prison and a financial penalty to be determined by the federal judge.
