Newport seafood
My Columbus Day weekend was spent celebrating, not exactly the
discovery of America, but
the discovery of Newport, Rhode Island. Lloyd just started a three month Marine JAG
training there at the Naval
Justice School,
so we moved him in and got to know the town.
There is a lot to like – rocky coastlines, sailboats, cozy taverns, and
of course, seafood galore. Our first
lunch just had to be clam chowder, which had a wonderfully unexpected smoky
flavor. The next day for dinner, we
shared a crab and lobster martini appetizer.
It reminded me just how little preparation high quality seafood needs.
