grocery store sushi

I was really excited when little handmade sushi stations started popping up in grocery stores all around, including the commissary that we shop at on Marine Corps Base Hawaii. But over time, this go-to healthful option for eating on the run has become a bit of a nutrition mine field. The sushi is getting fancier and fancier, which means higher and higher in empty calories and saturated fat. Luckily, there are still a few options for simple sushi at my grocery store. My general rule of thumb is to steer clear of anything that looks super crunchy, creamy, or crazy. Of course, Im sure these options are delicious, but should be considered a treat versus a lean lunch.
