Greetings from Boston
Today and tomorrow I am in Boston, a true seafood town, for the 2008 Tufts University Friedman School Symposium.I am most looking forward to the discussions about the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which are published every five years and serve as the cornerstone for most all nutrition policy. The 2005 version is positive about seafood, but not as clearly encouraging as is warranted, especially for the special population of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Obviously the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee will have a lot of food issues on their plate, but I’ll be working to ensure the latest science demonstrating the importance of eating plenty of seafood is one of them.
Oh, and I did end up making the curried salmon loaf recipe the night before last, and willpost a picture herewhen I get back to DC. Tonight, I’m hoping to eat some good old fashioned New England seafood with maybe a seasonal autumn beer!
