My dear friend Chere turned 33 recently, and gave us all the gift of a celebratory fish fry featuring walleye from her home state of Minnesota.Deep-fried food doesnt make it onto the blog too often.Not only does deep-frying wreak havoc on the healthy fat, low-cal profile of fish, it can kill the taste in my opinion.But being that this was a birthday celebration, and Minnesotans know how to fry their fish right, I indulged in a couple crispy filets.Mmmm mmmm.Calorie budget well spent.The golden batter absolutely enhanced the wonderfully mild freshwater flavor of the walleye. Who needs birthday cake?
