comfort dish: tilapia, red cabbage & spaetzle
Although I currently live 2,800 miles from San Francisco, I still crave the Kasespaetzle with red cabbage from our favorite SF German restaurant, @suppenkuche. I will not even pretend that the dish is low in calories and fat, but it is delicious. So, you can imagine how excited I was when my husband offered to saut the red cabbage in our fridge with home-made Spaetzle.
To complement the buttery German noodle and the hearty flavor of the cabbage, we needed a light-tasting protein. So, we grilled tilapia seasoned only with Trader Joes Everyday Seasoning. Low in calories and fat, this mild white fish is a great source of protein and contains selenium and vitamin B12. It was the perfect protein for this potentially heavy comfort-food meal.
Oh, and well definitely be making this dish again.
