Ive generally adored my experience being a part of the Marine Corps community. The people we have made friends with are interesting and smart, the places weve lived are dreamy, and the opportunities Lloyd has been given are challenging and engaging.But along with the sweet comes the bitter what keeps the Marine Corps dynamic and adaptable is the constant flow of Marines from one spot to the next, which for me, translates in to having to say good-bye to friends I love.Ive been lucky to have a steady stock of pals since weve been in Hawaii, but this weekend Ill be saying good-bye to a super-great couple Ive really enjoyed getting to know.The brightside is that were turning what could be a sad occasion into a celebration, which begins tonight with a gathering at Krazy Karaoke. This is a Japanese-style establishment, which means you get your own private room to sing in. And, my favorite part (since Im not much of a singer), you can bring your own food and drinks.Last night I made a big batch of ceviche to share using barramundi and lots of fresh veggies and herbs. It smelled so good as I was preparing it, that I snuck a serving for dinner along with a side of brown rice, lentils, and avocados.Cant wait to eat more tonight!
