a homemade Australian seafood meal

Its mid-day Tuesday in Australia, and I am just about now calming down from the overwhelming amazingness of the dinner I ate last Thursday, my first night here. My parents met me in Sydney (theyre joining me on my pre- and post-conference travel) and it so happens that my fathers former colleague lives a short walk from our hotel. He and his wife invited us to dinner at their home, which had a gorgeous view of Darling Harbor. This probably would have been impressive enough, but then came the food. We were treated to hand-rolled sushi; big, juicy prawns with a yogurt cocktail sauce; two varieties of local raw oysters; and whole grilled snapper.Pretty much my ideal last meal. And, a beautiful representation of the kindness of Australians thats been confirmed over and over again throughout the course of this trip.
