I am in Texas through Thanksgiving, so the Dallas restaurant tour continues. Last night I saw The Descendants (a must for anyone with Hawaiian tiesactually, anyone in general) with my mom and sister and then we ate dinner at one of my favorite North Texas spots of all time, La Duni Latin Caf. La Duni is a cozy restaurant with the most dependably delicious food and drinks. My sister and I split the fish quesadillas, which were much more elegant and interesting than they sound. Three crisped, guajillo dipped and grilled handmade corn tortillas arrived, filled with sauted fresh fish picadillo. Basmati rice, black beans, molcajete salsas, mashed avocado, and limes surrounded the quesadillas, enticing me to make each forkful a little different. I will be longing for this perfect plate of food for a while, with unfortunately no way to quench my craving until the next time I come home.
