catfish over lentil and cabbage broth @HuskRestaurant

We spent the weekend in and around one of my favorite cities, Charleston, SC. Im so excited to be just 1.5 hours away from this vibrant, yet quaint town and cant wait to get to know it better while were living in Beaufort. Charleston is bursting with great food, but one of the most acclaimed spots as of late is Husk, which we had the pleasure of giving a try Friday night. I was immediately won over by how comfortable the restaurant felt. Im not a huge fan of formality, especially at 6.5 months pregnant. The server had the demeanor of an easygoing hostess welcoming us into her home and could answer any questions we had about the ingredients as if shed personally procured them. I had a hard time picking my entre because there were a handful of freshly caught fish that all sounded so good, but ended up going with the catfish over lentils and cabbage in a flavorful broth. It was a pretty big bowl of food and I licked it clean. The other star of the menu was the bacon cornbread, which arrived in a little cast iron skillet and tasted like a campfire (in the best way possible). Its a must order item if you ever find yourself at Husk.
