Fish may help fight diabetes
A study came out recently that shows people who stick closely to a Mediterranean diet full of vegetables, fish, and healthy fats such as olive oil, while low in red meat, dairy products, and alcohol are 83 percent less likely to develop Type 2 diabetes than those who do not. Of course, nutrition recommendations are based on a sea of science, not just one study. But the foods in a Mediterranean diet are linked with so many other proven health benefits like prevention of heart disease and some cancers you cant go wrong eating up. Plus, veggies, fish, and a splash of olive oil are delicious and perfectly suited for summer. I know I have all the ingredients except the fish and fresh flat-leaf parsley for this recipe that claims to be not only Mediterranean, but intense Mediterranean! I may swing by the market and give it a try for dinner.
