Saffron and sardines
Lloyd was out of town all last week for work; hence the lack
of real meal making that took place here.
He got home over the weekend, so now we’re back on track. Last night we made Sicilian-Style
Pasta with Sardines. It’s really
different, in a great way. I was excited
because I got to use a pinch of the saffron I received as a gift for our
wedding (yes, one of our presents was a gift certificate for spices…my loved
ones know me well). I adore the
intoxicating flavor of saffron, and since it’s not cheap, choose any dish that
I use it for carefully. I deem this
pasta “saffron-worthy” and would only change one thing next time I make it –
double the sauce because it was so yummy…subtly sweet and just interesting.
