Tuna melt

Today for lunch I made an easy-as-pie tuna melt with chopped
basil, mustard, and capers. The bubbly
cheese on top is aged Gouda! (definitely deserves an exclamation point)

The tuna mix-in combinations are endless. Here’s a few off the top of my head…

  • Apples
  • Avocados
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Capers
  • Celery
  • Cottage cheese
  • Cream cheese
  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Herbs
  • Jalapeos
  • Lemon
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • Olives
  • Olive oil
  • Peanut sauce
  • Red onion
  • Red pepper
  • Soy sauce
  • Water chestnuts

I pull from this same general list when making salmon
burgers. No two batches are ever exactly
alike. I’ve got salmon burgers on the
supper plan for tomorrow, so we’ll see what I end up with.
