Fish sandwiches
Twice this week I’ve found myself out and about running errands around lunchtime, and twice this week I’ve opted for fish sandwiches at delis – the smoked fish sandwich from Uahi Island Grill and the albacore tuna salad sandwich from Aloha Salads. The special toppings – like mango and strawberries with the tuna – are what make both these sandwiches special. Along with the touch of creamy sauce on both! I always find the calorie content of fast food to be interesting, but I don’t get too hung up on it. My top tips for food on the run are very simple:
1) Eat on the go only occasionally. For me, this means a couple times a month at the most.
2) Usually what you order is much bigger than what you’d make at home. So eat part, and save the rest for later as a snack or even a second meal.
If you don’t follow tip number one, and fall in to the category of “Fast Food Frequenter,” then being choosier about yourselections is in order.
