Statement on the passing of Thomas Elliott

WASHINGTON, DC December 1, 2014 With the passing of Tom Elliott, the seafood community remembers a giant but also celebrates his life in the industry. From his days at Slade Gorton to his tenure as President of the California Seafood Institute and his leadership as Chairman of the National Fisheries Institute, Tom Elliott was respected and admired.

Whether in NFI board meetings, on Capitol Hill or the rugby pitch, Tom Elliot was a leader, said NFI President John Connelly. Tom knew the importance of team and how to manage and inspire one. His influence and humor will be missed.

Today our prayers, thoughts and thanks go out to his family and many friends.
